New York Kids flock to Science Fair
Over 200 students from all over central New York descended on Syracuse last weekend for the 2016 Central New York Science & Engineering Fair. Roughly 225 projects from students in grades 4-12 were competing for some of the $204,000 being offered in scholarships. The greater goal of the competition is to foster a greater interest in science and engineering in younger students. The event was sponsored by Time Warner Cable’s Connect a Million Minds program, which aims to work with parents, mentors and others to connect over one million students to after-school STEM activities.
