Learn about the various careers that exist in the sector. Whether you’re a math or computer wiz, a “people” person or a creative type, an extrovert or an introvert, the career matching tool will help you find the right career for you.
Once you have some good ideas you can Plan your training and/or educational path to get the skills you need for the career you want.

The site is part of a Regional Sector Based Workforce Development Strategy by the Council of Industry, Hudson Valley Community Colleges, Workforce Investment Boards, and other groups. Its goal is to close the manufacturing skills gap in our region.

While job openings in the sector have hit a 5 year high, manufacturing employment remains stagnant. The reason is fewer individuals have the skills the sector requires. GoMakeIt.org will show young people where the opportunities are.

So please, check the site out, share it with family, friends, colleagues. GoMakeIt.org is in its infancy and we have plans to improve it with features like more video content and more personal stories on specific career paths. We welcome your suggestions on how to improve it as well.
