Find out what Dark Skies means, how we are losing it and how that is impacting humans, animals and the environment. Find out what are Dark Sky Friendly features in a luminaire and the importance of incorporating Dark Sky Friendly design into modern lighting including the organizations, programs, and regulations that impact the design of lighting for homes and communities. A brief tour of the Selux facility will follow the presentation.

Presenter: James Brigagliano LC, IES, LEED Green Assoc.
James began his career in lighting over 15 years ago working in the Planning, Design & Construction Dept. at Cornell University.  In his time at Cornell James gained experience measuring and photographing built projects, collaborating with professionals on master planning and creating site lighting standards for the campus.  For the last 10 years, James has dedicated his career to lighting and product development at Selux Corporation in Highland, NY. James has written multiple continuing education articles, developed many new products and gained a strong appreciation for environmentally friendly lighting.  His personal interests include photography, trail running and backcountry skiing.
